YCharOS performs side-by-side characterization studies on commercially available antibody reagents. Our gold standard genetic characterization process uses both a cell line expressing adequate endogenous levels of the target protein and a CRISPR knockout version of the same cell line as a negative control. The applications tested are immunoblot, immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence. We are a resource for the scientific community and follow the principles of Open Science. We assist scientists in selecting the right antibody for their application and manufacturers in identifying and highlighting to the marketplace their highest quality products. We have partnered with seven leading antibody and cell line providers that are submitting their products to us for testing. As a product testing agency, we are independent of the product manufacturers and our test results are guided solely by the best science.
