The name 'Yein Udaan' is an amalgamation of two languages – Tamil (‘Yein’ meaning ‘My’) and Hindi (‘Udaan’ meaning ‘Takeoff’). At Yein Udaan, we reimagine what possibility looks like in under-resourced communities.
Rooted in Chetpet, Chennai, we began as an after-school centre for children. Today, we run a kindergarten, primary school and three after-school centres, as thriving spaces that nurtures confidence, connection and community. We do this through focusing on academics, co-curricular activities, mental health, and family engagement.
With deep local trust and city-wide partnerships, we work with children and those around them — parents, educators, and peers. We aim to bridge opportunity gaps and support long-term well-being and growth.
