YELL! Academy

The goal of YELL! (Youth Engaged in Learning and Leading) Academy is to maintain student interests in prospective careers as it relates to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Studies have shown, an early interest in a field of study will increase student performances in the classroom as well as offer a prospective career path. YELL! Academy’s mission is to improve students' learning while enhancing students’ opportunities to succeed in academics, leadership, and life. Our vision is to encompass strong partnerships with families, schools, and communities that will provide a safe environment for students to increase their college readiness while developing career goals, leadership skills, emotional and physical health, and individual passions. YELL! Academy will give students in Georgia transitioning from elementary to middle school, middle and high, high school to college the opportunity to participate in our Program. This program helps to improve science and math skills through utilization of technology with computer networking and inquiry-based learning using critical thinking and systems thinking. These skills improve student performance on National Science and Math Standards. Attending the Enrichment Program will help students increase their science and math comprehension to help them obtain classroom subject proficiency. YELL! will maintain student interests in prospective careers as it relates to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics STEM. Participation in Extended Day Programs, Summer Enrichment Camps, Saturday Workshops and Professional Development Training for teachers will build and maintain student interests while showing innovative learning strategies to increase academic performance in STEM and allow students the opportunity to become technological thinkers.
