Yellow Bear Studios is an award-winning interactive studio located in Toronto, Canada, specializing in convergent and transmedia experiences for film and television (Shaftesbury, Insight, Smokebomb, Cream, Zone3), commercial mobile and web development, and the development of original properties across multiple platforms including television, mobile and emerging platforms such as wearable technology.
As a studio that loves pushing the boundaries and experimenting with technology, Yellow Bear Studios released the world’s first real-time action strategy game, State of Syn: Singularity, (2014 Digi Award Nomination, Gaming). Based on Smokebomb Entertainment’s digital scripted series State of Syn, for Google Glass after being selected as one of only 3 Canadian developers to work with Glass, Yellow Bear developed the award-winning (2014 IAWTV Award for Best Interactive Experience) mobile game entitled State of Syn: The World Outside for iOS and Android devices. Yellow Bear also created the first-ever Canadian-produced YouTube masthead game for eOne’s Ender’s Game, that used Google’s Channel Connect technology and an HTML5 mobile site to turn mobile devices into the game controller.
