YLabs Institute Overview

Running since June 2021 and incorporated in Indonesia in September 2023, YLabs Institute is a working unit under a foundation named Yayasan Riset dan Inovasi Pembangunan Indonesia with a mission to improve the awareness and skills on STEM and entrepreneurship, also to popularize the open innovation model in tackling fast-moving challenges with collaboration, innovation, and sustainable-approach. To deliver impacts, we use the YLabs Ways as a strategy which consist of four main activities: 1. Providing open-innovation.id as a platform for community campaign and collaboration; 2. Talent Development Activities, including innovation contest, workshop, and bootcamp; 3. Research and Innovation Development, including collaborative R&D and fundraising; and 4. “Initiative to Impact” Incubation Program as a follow-up activity for the alumni of YLabs Program. To date, YLabs Institute has been completing 18 projects related to STEM, Entrepreneurship, Youth, and Sustainability, collaborated with more than 20 partners across sectors and expertises, including higher education institutions and local governments. By championing open-innovation.id as a platform to popularize the collaborative innovation movement to tackle fast-moving challenges in developing countries, we are now having more than 3000 community members as beneficiaries and we are committed to provide more supports to increase the innovation readiness and productivity.
