YMCA International Learning Center

Started in 1975, the YMCA International Learning Center (YMCA ILC) has helped over 31,700 adults improve their English, computer, academic, and career skills. Classes are offered in Boston, Woburn, Chelsea, East Boston, Dorchester, Avon, Lynn, and everywhere in between--at YMCA ILC schools, YMCA branches, and companies' work sites. They are offered any time of the day, any day of the week, and vary from 1 hour to 25 hours per week and last from 1 to 9 months. Seven (7) language levels are offered: Beginner through Advanced University Preparation. Over 300 students are served daily. They come from more than 74 countries, speak more than 33 languages, and live in more than 52 Boston-area cities. The YMCA ILC recently expanded to offering Spanish and Mandarin Chinese language classes.
