Founded in 2013 by the Ashland Police Department, the You Have Options Program is a law enforcement-led program that provides uniformity and accountability through training and technical assistance to sworn law enforcement agencies who are committed to the highest standards of response to sexual violence. The You Have Options Program’s trauma-informed “20 Elements” lead to increased reporting by victims, increased identification of sexual offenders, and improved investigations.
In 2015 the Brighton Police Department in Colorado became the first national YHOP Law Enforcement Agency, with additional agencies joining every year.
