YouMatter

YouMatter is a social network that aims to connect people in emotional distress with “helpers” on the platform with similar life experiences like depression, anxiety, alcohol abuse among others. The users can get connected anonymously over personal chat sessions or be part of controlled group chat sessions on topics relevant to them. The “helpers” undergo an orientation process that equips them with basic, and essential listening skills to help provide support by listening to users and help them better understand their feelings. With YouMatter we aim to reduce the treatment gap for Mental Health by providing a safeguarded network that fosters emotional health and empowering users with necessary listening skills. Furthermore, reduce the stigma and increase awareness around Mental Health by forming a central repository for everything related to emotional & mental health.
