Young Creators UK

YCUK (CIC) is a social enterprise that enables cultural activation for young people, run by young people for the benefit of all. We put people first, give agency, celebrate identity and disrupt multiple sectors with our radical and sustainable model. We remove barriers to creativity, lending over 10,000 pieces of pro standard equipment, offer a range of commercial software, systems and processes, provide training on hard and soft skills and culturally appropriate welfare supplies, all for free. With accessible real world pay, we’ve launched 100’s of careers, supporting over 3000 days employment for underrepresented & marginalised creatives directly, working with local, national and international clients. We build community through authentic engagement, our Dharna media services and cultural activation spaces. We built the UK’s largest free to use creative spaces and one of few youth owned spaces of scale in existence. In 6 months it supported over 3000 youth visits, community and commercial organisations and worked with leading cultural voices. All unfunded, built and run by our young community. Working across our 4 pillars of service we give equity, equip people and organisations to better manage power and enable new narratives to thrive. We've worked for clients such as Lambeth Council, Pop Brixton, Peckham Levels, Oasis Charity, Mitsubishi, BBC, Enfield Uni and Mr Lee/Tommy Hilfiger, The Roundhouse, The NHS, Black Seed, Spotlight, Phoenix Court, Juvenile and SRD Culture. We aim to break down barriers in the creative sector and get young creatives into successful long term careers regardless of their race, gender, socioeconomic background or any other challenge.
