Young Investor Program Canada was founded by Akaash Bali and Rohit Bali in Vancouver as a comprehensive not-for-profit program, aiming to educate youth from Grades 10 - 12 on financial literacy. Through interactive workshops, speaker series, and case studies, this program’s mission is to empower our youth to develop better money management skills and spending habits in order to become our nation’s investors of tomorrow. The program will also provide valuable networking opportunities with business professionals from various financial institutions and both private and publicly-traded companies. The Vancouver chapter launched in January 2014 and the response from students was overwhelming. The Young Investor Program executive team ran a successful program that was well received from both students and parents and was nominated for the Nova Star Award. Following the overwhelming success of its inaugural year in 2014, the team is excited about establishing a new chapter in Toronto in January of 2015 and is looking forward to expanding across Canada in the next 5 years.
