Young Leaders in Ocean Governance

As leaders in ocean governance recognize, there is an urgent need to build a talent pipeline of young professionals entering this critical but nascent field. Without structured pathways into blue economy finance and law of the seas legislative roles, we miss the chance to cultivate the next generation of ocean governance. By pioneering internship and mentorship initiatives like our proposed program, our pilot location of Bermuda's financial and governmental bodies have the opportunity to set the standard globally. Local mentorship will spark international impact, allowing Bermuda to solidify its reputation as an ocean governance hub while shaping best practices for youth engagement across sectors. With the backing of prominent institutions like the United Nations, the programme's frameworks developed in Bermuda can scale worldwide.
