York Region Rapid Transit Corporation [YRRTC] is a wholly-owned subsidiary and share capital corporation of The Regional Municipality of York.
YRRTC is responsible for the planning, design and construction of York Region's rapid transit network and related infrastructure.
We’ve accomplished a lot so far:
-- Designed and built 34 km of bus rapid transit on York Region's busiest roads as of 2021
-- Oversaw York Region's investment in the Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension to Vaughan, built by the Toronto Transit Commission and opened in 2017
-- Designed and built terminals and facilities to support York Region's rapid transit network, including the SmartVMC Bus Terminal in Vaughan Metropolitan Centre, Cornell Bus Terminal in Markham, and a large transit operations, maintenance and storage facility in Richmond Hill
