Yangon Technological University (YTU), formerly known as Rangoon/Yangon Institute of Technology (RIT/YIT), was re-opened in 2012 as the Center of Excellence after being closed for decades, and is now at the stage of promoting the reputation and the capacity of the university in terms of international accreditation, research, teaching methodologies and student activities.
YTU Students' Union is the main student body of the university, re-established in 2014 with the aim of bridging between the university administration and the students, and revitalization of a vivid campus life and extra-curricular activities. The Union consists of a number of clubs and associations, actively run by the students, in the fields of languages, arts, music, sports, science and technology.
