ZAIT - Helmholtz Innovation Lab

ZAIT is part of the cohort of Helmholtz Innovation Labs (HILs) that started in 2019. HILS are platforms or laboratories where scientific expertise meets industrial demand. The aim of the HILs is to launch long-term development projects. In ZAIT, this is exactly what will happen for the field of aerogels and aerogel composites. It is operated by the Aerogels and Aerogel Composites Department of the DLR Institute of Materials Research (WF-AEG), located in Cologne-Porz. ZAIT offers the opportunity to shed new light on current challenges and provide disruptive approaches to solutions for specific issues. From laboratory scale to pilot plant, we design, plan and manufacture initial components or generic test bodies to address your problem. Always in close cooperation with you, possible other partners and specifically tailored to your area of application.
