Zaman is an insurance and reinsurance broking house headquartered in Baku, Azerbaijan with global offices in Tbilisi, Georgia and Istanbul, Turkiye. Founded in 2003, Zaman is the leading (re)insurance broker in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Our extensive b2b portfolio consists of energy and non-energy SMEs in the Caspian and Turkish regions. In 2017, Zaman became the first and only Lloyd’s broker in the CIS region, granting us direct access to the renowned marketplace. We operate an Energy facility at Lloyd’s with a $1 billion capacity in upstream, midstream and downstream for each and every risk. This gives a wider opportunity for clients to successfully place risks even when there is a deficit of capacity in the market. Despite the fact that our main clients include large energy firms, we also have strong competency in servicing SMEs, to whom we offer broker services across all types of insurance lines. Zaman’s practice is bolstered by its experienced and trained staff, who are all accredited members of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). Zaman also benefits from membership of prestigious organisations and broker associations including the LIIBA and UnisonSteadfast, among others. In the face of challenges experienced by all insurance market participants, Zaman is actively involved in seeking out new opportunities to adopt digitalisation, innovation and new technologies in the sphere to create effective solutions for clients. One example includes the fully digital Motor Insurance product, Kasko Butik, where price is formed from a combination of the driver’s behaviour and intensity of asset usage. Another example is the SaaS-based Risk Management platform, GeekBro, which changes risk management from a post to pre-event approach through real-time risk identification, evaluation and control software - enabling us to contribute to a safer and greener society. Our short-term plan is to expand operations to the UK, EU and Central Asia.
