浙江省发展规划研究院成立于1985年11月，是浙江省人民政府直属的正厅级事业单位，是全省高质量发展重要的“思想库”、“智囊团”和“工程院”，是浙江省委省政府明确的5家高端智库试点单位之一，是中国工程咨询协会副会长单位。其职责是“紧紧围绕省委省政府中心工作，着眼全省谋划重大战略、研究发展规划、推进重点项目，在课题研究、规划编制、工程咨询等方面提供高质量的咨询服务”。目前，全院拥有一支高学历、多学科、复合型、富有激情活力的智库研究团队，在职职工166人，其中硕博士学历134人。
