Zephyr's Atelier is a contemporary women wear brand that sees the need for Africans to appreciate the beauty in their culture. She realizes that Africans need to embrace their culture as Africans and stop depending majorly on the Western Culture. Zephyr's Atelier produces garments, footwear, handbags, purses and wallets with the unique textile, Mkpuru Akwete, woven by artisans in a village located in the Eastern Nigeria. Akwete is a unique hand woven textile produced in Akwete an Ndoki (Igbo sub-group) community in Ukwa East LGA of Abia State, Nigeria.
We add embellishments to our garments as each piece has intricate details such as hand beading. We advocate sustainability in fashion is why our garments are carefully woven using natural processes and undergo a thorough quality control check before they are sent out. We disregard fast fashion and embrace ethical sustainability.
Zephyr's Atelier was founded by Olawunmi Balogun upon completion of her fashion studies at the prestigious OSC College of Fashion at the age of 17. Her passion to soar in the fashion industry makes her determined and consistent with a strong will to succeed. Zephyr's Atelier is registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria. Zephyr's Atelier was established in February, 2019 with the launch of a two piece graduating collection. Zephyr's Atelier launched her Spring Summer 2020 collection in December, 2019 which consisted of garments as well as fashion accessories showcased at the African Fashion Week Nigeria 2019. Her Autumn Winter 2021 collection was launched in March 2021.
