Founded in 1998, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Zeta is a distributor and cultural production company aimed to film distribution, film festivals, curatorship, and audiovisual exhibitions. In 2001, Zeta Films created Indie Festival, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Indie means independent. Indie means creative, free, experimental, cultural. Interested in exhibiting this sort of production, Zeta created the festival to stimulate an audience for independent and authorial cinema. In 2013 Zeta Filmes starts in film distribution of international features in the Brazilian theatrical circuit. By this time, more than 80 titles were distributed theatrically by Zeta Filmes in the country, counting a total of more than 850.000 admissions with a box office of more than 2.000.000 Euros. With the support of Brazilian institutions, many titles were shown non-theatrically among main cities and towns of the countryside of Brazil and used for cultural and educational purposes. In 2016 Zeta Filmes launched the project CLASSICA and started the releasing of classic and cult titles of international art cinema in new and restored DCP prints.
In 2019 begins to operate as an international sales agent taking advantage of the experience acquired by Zeta Filmes in this business. Our goal is to make Brazilian films circulate and to be seen in cinemas around the world as well as globally in broadcasters and digital platforms.
