ZQ Capital is a cross-border private equity firm founded in 2016 by Simon Shen. ZQ Capital invests in late-stage companies that are market leaders in their “home country” (usually Western and/or developed markets) with good financials and operational fundamentals, but underdeveloped or underperforming Asian businesses. Asian value creation is the main catalyst for investment and will generate a unique alpha where investors benefit from superior economic upside associated with Asian markets while being protected on the downside through the existing businesses in the “home country”. Buyout or significant control is expected. Simon Shen is a “hands-on” founder with over 20 years of experience in corporate advisory and global cross-border private equity investing, with over USD 80 billion in transactions executed as investor or financial advisor during his time at Goldman Sachs and Barclays.
