Our company has its roots back to the 18th century, first located in Hisøya outside Arendal as Hæstad Eftf. The company was one of the biggest producers and exporter in Norway of herring and lobster.
3 generations ago in 1912, "Ramoen" one of the largest fishing vessel of its time, were built together with 5 other partners in Vartdal outside of Ålesund. Around 1916 processing and export were started in Ålesund.
Our company has played an active part in developing the Norwegian seafood industry, both in fishery and processing from the late 1960s and salmon farming from the 1980s.

End 2019 AS Aalesundfisk became part of Aalesundfisk Holding, forming a verical Integrated value Chain - from Sea to end customers. Aalesundfisk Holding also have part ownership in Fishing vessels and full ownership in two land-based operations in Vardø and Skarsvåg. AS Aalesundfisk is then the sales part in the vertical Integrated value Chain.
