Theory was created in New York City in 1997 by Andrew Rosen and his business partner. Inspired by a vision of modern fashion and the way fashion businesses are run, the company committed to innovate, impassion, invest, and inspire. Theory defined the contemporary market, and the perfect fit and exceptional fabrics sparked a frenzied response.
In 1999 in Tokyo, Ricky Sasaki introduced Theory through Link International. His motive was to form a like-minded international clientele. Longtime friends in the apparel business , Ricky Sasaki and Andrew Rosen partnered when Link International licensed Theory in Japan.
In 2003 Link International, with Fast Retailing (known for Uniqlo in Japan), acquired Theory. This formed one unified corporation, LTH, a global philosophy binding people and partnership, quality and product, what is and what can be.
