The predecessor of Peking University Alumni Association was "PKU students in the United States"established in 1919 (the university was founded 21 years ago) by Wan Zhaozhi organization. In the 1820s, the alumni organization of PKU spread from America to China and is scattered in Beijing, Shanghai and nanjing. On May 4, 1984, the alumni association of Peking University became an official national independent society organization, and became an independent society legal person in 1992. After the Century Anniversary of 1999, the alumni affairs department and the permanent secretary department were set up under the education foundation of PKU. In October 2010, the alumni association set up an independent alumni work office, which is jointly operated with the secretariat of the alumni association of PKU. At present, Peking University Alumni Association is joining hands with over 300 thousand PKU alumni and over 100 alumni organizations from all over the world to serve alumni, Alma mater and society.
