Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University is a subsidiary of the National Health and Wellness Commission and a comprehensive teaching hospital affiliated to Fudan University. The hospital opened in 1937 and was one of the earliest large-scale comprehensive hospitals created and managed by the Chinese. It was named after the National Shanghai Medical College and named after Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of the Chinese democratic revolution. After liberation, he was called Zhongshan Hospital of Shanghai First Medical College and Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Medical University. In 2001, he changed his current name and used it to date. He is the first batch of Grade A hospitals in Shanghai. After 80 years of development, the headquarters of Zhongshan Hospital currently covers an area of 96,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 358,000 square meters and an approved bed of 2005. The number of emergency visits to the hospital was more than 4 million, the number of discharged patients exceeded 150,000, and the number of hospitalized patients was nearly 100,000. There are more than 4,000 employees in the hospital, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and more than 600 senior titles.
