立邦中国隶属于新加坡立时集团(Nipsea Group)。1990年中国与新加坡建立邦交。同年，立时集团开始筹划进入中国。“立邦”的命名来自立时集团创办人吴清亮，由“建立邦交”而来，寓意是开启中国与立邦美好的友谊。
