Alternative Pathways is an exciting new trauma informed part-time alternative learning provision, created and led by two experienced senior school leaders with a track record of achieving success for children and young people that have struggled to successfully access mainstream education.
Our personalised approach to learning empowers young people and motivates them to succeed, with all of our work based on the principle that safe and trusting relationships sit at the heart of engagement.
Our mission is to inspire generational change by empowering children, young people and their communities to engage with learning and create positive outcomes.
The years of experience we have gained in both education and youth work have equipped us with the knowledge and skills to support the city’s most vulnerable children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. Our co-founders are experienced in safeguarding, trauma informed practice and school leadership and have created a provision that takes a holistic approach to ensuring the academic and personal wellbeing of every individual we work with.
We offer bespoke packages that fit the need of each young person and are agreed with the referrer. We understand that trust and safety is crucial to any piece of work, and relational learning is at the heart of what we do. We build trust, identify safe spaces and ways of working, and agree to take safe risks together, all in line with our core values:
