Het initiatief Architects for Future toont solidariteit met de klimaatbeweging Fridays for Future en Scientists for Future. Wij willen niets minder dan bouwen duurzaam en klimaatvriendelijk te maken.
Klimaatverandering bedreigt ons en de temperatuur is al met bijna 1,5 graad gestegen. Elke vrijdag gaan scholieren de straat op tijdens Fridays for Future in Nederland en Europa. Maar de klimaatdoelstellingen worden alleen gehaald als de bouw ook ingrijpend verandert. Het is immers verantwoordelijk voor meer dan 20% van de totale CO2-uitstoot wereldwijd. Het wordt dus tijd dat er iets verandert in de bouwsector: duurzaam, circulair en klimaatvriendelijk. Wij zijn 6 architecten en zijn samengekomen om de bouwsector te heroriënteren en te ondersteunen om de doelstellingen van Parijs te halen. Architects for Future wil een herbezinning in het bouwen initiëren wat moet leiden naar een klimaatvriendelijk bouwbesluit. Wij nodigen iedereen die in de bouw actief is dit initiatief aan te wenden voor kennisdeling over duurzaam, biobased, circulair en gezond bouwen. Ook willen wij de architectuurstudenten van Nederland oproepen om te netwerken en om ter plaatse en in hun regio’s werkgroepen voor het klimaat op te richten als toekomstige generaties architecten, bouwkundige, planologen en civieltechnische experts.
Duurzaamheid in de bouw vraagt om het denken in gesloten kringlopen voor materiaal- & grondstof-gebruik, afval, water, transport & mobiliteit, natuur- en klimaatadaptatie, energie en sociale duurzaamheid.
Op dit moment werken wij aan ons manifest om als Architects for Future ons doelstellingen voor de Nederlandse bouwsector vorm te geven!
