Unsere Vision ist eine Gesellschaft, in der alle Menschen miteinander lernen, leben und arbeiten können. Ganz egal, ob sie behindert sind oder nicht, Österreicherinnen und Österreicher, oder nicht, Frauen oder Männer oder beides oder etwas dazwischen.
Unsere Founder haben vor ihrer „atempo-Zeitrechnung“ Jahre lang behinderte Menschen betreut und dabei gelernt: Der Grad zwischen Hilfe, die wirklich hilft und Hilfe, die abhängig macht, ist ein sehr schmaler.
Irgendwann haben sie verstanden, dass „Verstehen“ der Hebel für ein selbstbestimmtes, unabhängiges Leben ist. Verstehen ist Voraussetzung für erfolgreiches Lernen, für gutes Entscheiden und für wirksames Handeln. Das war die Geburtsstunde für das Projekt „capito“.
Verstehen ist wichtig, aber das allein reicht für Menschen mit Behinderungen nicht. Deshalb gibt es in unserem Unternehmen auch noch andere wichtige Themen, zum Beispiel „Bildung“, „digitale Inklusion“, oder „User-Involvement“.
Insgesamt sind wir gut 80 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter und rund 20% von uns haben eine Behinderung. Diversity ist bei uns etwas, das einfach passiert – was natürlich nur so scheint. Denn wir tun einiges dafür, Diversity zu nutzen als Innovationstreiber und als Riesenpotenzial für den Blick über den Tellerrand.
Wir nennen unser Unternehmen „atempo“. Dieser Begriff kommt aus der Welt der Musik und bedeutet: Zurück zum Ursprungstempo. Wir haben die Bedeutung etwas abgewandelt.
