Acik Studyo has been established in 2016 by Safak Ersozlu and Bahar Nihal Ersozlu with the aim of opening new spaces for contemporary performance practises. The collective defines itself as a performance researches initiative which has been inaugurated in a black box in the centre of Izmir. They continue their journey in their home office in Iskele district of Urla.
Nowadays, the initiative gives priority to the collaborations with K2 Urla Breathing Zone on sustainable life idea while keeping in mind the possibility of developing other projects on various concepts in different venues. Acik Studyo and K2 Urla Breathing Zone declares their invaluable cooperation based on mutual principles for an indefinite duration.
Recent achievements of Safak Ersozlu and Bahar Nihal Ersozlu can be highlighted through four original works by budalasultan collective, and three versions of Visibility in Art Festival – Izmir.

Şafak Ersözlü ve Bahar Nihal Ersözlü tarafından güncel performans pratiklerine yeni alanlar açmak amacıyla 2016 yılında kuruldu. İzmir kent merkezindeki kara kutu tipi bir stüdyoda başlayan yolculuğuna, Urla’nın İskele mahallesindeki ev ofisinde devam eden ekip kendini bir performans araştırmaları inisiyatifi olarak tanımlıyor.
İnisiyatif, 2019 yılı itibariyle farklı alan ve konseptlerde projeler geliştirme olasılığını da akılda tutarak öncelikli çalışmalarını sürdürülebilir yaşam düşüncesi etrafında K2 Urla Nefes Alanı’na odaklıyor. K2 Urla Nefes Alanı ile Açık Stüdyo belirsiz süreli, ilkesel ve çok değerli bir iş birliği içinde bulunuyor.
Şafak Ersözlü ve Bahar Nihal Ersözlü’nün geçmiş deneyimleri arasında budalasultan kolektifi adı altında ürettikleri dört özgün eser ve Sanatta Görünürlük Festivali – İzmir adlı üç festival etkinlik yapımı bulunuyor.
