José Chaves founded the Chaves winery in 1955, in the north-western Celtic Atlantic corridor of Galicia, bestowing the same name on his wines. The business was passed down from father to son, and with the new generation came a new impetus to take those early dreamsand take them into increasingly challenging and dynamic projects.
In 1986, our winery was the first to market wines with the appellation “Vinos de la Tierra" that guaranteed the origin of the Albariño in the Salnés Valley. Following this we were actively involved in the creation of the now renowned Denomination of Origin "Rias Baixas", and we are proud to be listed as the second winery to have registered.
Today, our journey continues. Although we have been very successful in producing high quality wines, we are continually striving to improve and we remain committed to producing the best that a Region like ours can offer to you, our client.

En el extremo más occidental del pasillo celta del Atlántico, en tierras de Galicia, José Chaves Chaves funda en 1955 la bodega, con la misma denominación para sus vinos. De padres a hijos la continuidad estaba garantizada, y el relevo generacional impulsó el sueño primero aportando vigor y empuje a un proyecto cada vez más estimulante y dinámico.
En 1986, nuestra bodega fue de las primeras en comercializar vinos amparados por la denominación "Vinos de la tierra" garantizando el origen del Albariño del Salnés. Tras esta experiencia, asistimos activamente a la creación de la reconocida Denominación de Origen Rías Baixas, orgullosos de figurar como la 2ª bodega en orden de inscripción.
Hoy por hoy, la travesía continúa. Sabemos que alcanzar el éxito es posible, comprometidos con nuestro trabajo y saber hacer en favor de nuestros clientes, a los que deseamos presentar lo mejor que una tierra como la nuestra es capaz de crear.
