Das Ziel der Caring Community Köln ist es, die Kölner Stadtgesellschaft im Umgang mit Sterben, Tod und Trauer zu stärken und ihre Kompetenzen zu fördern.
Mit ihrem Ansatz ist die Caring Community Köln eine – in einer deutschen Millionenstadt – einzigartige Initiative. Moderiert wird sie vom Gesundheitsamt der Stadt Köln und dem Palliativ- und Hospiznetzwerk Köln e.V. Mehr als 35 Kölner Institutionen engagieren sich bereits in der Caring Community, darunter auch die Industrie- und Handelskammer, die Handwerkskammer, das Palliativzentrum der Universitätsklinik, der Verein Endlich. Palliativ & Hospiz e.V., die AOK Rheinland/Hamburg, die Hospiz- und Palliativarbeitsgemeinschaft e.V. (HAK) oder auch die Seniorenvertretung der Stadt Köln. Gefördert wird die Initiative bisher von der Familie-Ernst-Wendt-Stiftung und der Imhoff Stiftung.
