As business psychologists with decades of experience in diversity & inclusion, we came to the troubling realisation that the standard approach simply isn’t working. Our thinking on the challenge was back to front.
Leading with ‘diversity’ and hoping for ‘inclusion’ was at best inefficient and at worst ineffective. It was, in fact, inclusion that was the key. Leading with ‘inclusion’ and achieving ‘diversity’ as a natural outcome was the way forward.
