Dindarò, a contraction of the Roman dialect, “dindarolo”, which means “piggybank”, is the first smartphone app that allows you to transform small coins into large sums of digital money. To use dindarò, you do not need a bank account or a credit card, but you must be at least 18 years old and own a smartphone. With every cash payment, users can ask to receive the change digitally, instead of physically, by simply showing their smartphone to the shopkeeper and having the change uploaded to their digital wallet. There are no more problems for retailers, as they will have the option to provide physical coins from the register or receive digital payments, thus, eliminating those hateful commissions.
