Mogen wij ons even voorstellen… Wij zijn DOA: het grootste en een-na-oudste dierenasiel van Nederland, gevestigd in Amsterdam. Met veel kennis, ervaring en liefde geven wij honden en katten alle zorg die zij nodig hebben. In tegenstelling tot veel andere asielen hebben wij alle dienstverlening onder één dak, waaronder een eigen dierenartspraktijk en veel getrainde professionals. Daarnaast weten mensen als zij bij ons adopteren wat voor dier zij krijgen, worden beestje en baasje zorgvuldig door ons gematcht en krijgen mensen drie maanden lang gratis advies en zo nodig begeleiding. We zijn een groot asiel maar een klein zelfstandig goed doel dat afhankelijk is van giften van donateurs om onze zorg voor de asieldieren waar te kunnen maken. Per jaar helpen wij zo’n 2000 honden en katten. Ons werk doen we met de inzet van vrijwilligers, al bijna dan 125 jaar lang.
