Kathiravelu Nythiananda Devananda, widely recognized as Douglas Devananda, is a prominent Sri Lankan Tamil politician who currently serves as a Cabinet Minister. He is also the leader of the Eelam People's Democratic Party. Mr. Devananda has a complex political history, having previously been involved in Sri Lankan Tamil militant activities with the aim of establishing an independent Tamil Eelam.
