Dovenschap streeft naar de versterking van de positie van doven, door middel van een kritische en onafhankelijke opstelling. Wij zijn gesprekspartner voor de overheid, dienstverlening en het bedrijfsleven. Daarbij worden voortdurend de belangen van de doven in het oog gehouden. De achterban bestaat over het algemeen uit gebarentaalgebruikers.
