Ecomulsion Fuel Solutions (EFS) provides technology and services to produce oil-in-water emulsion fuels. Ecomulsion fuel is a low cost substitute for heavy fuel oil (HFO) and can be utilised in power generation plants, large diesel engines (static and marine), furnaces, kilns and steam-raising plant. Made from the lowest cost elements of the oil barrel Ecomulsion fuel is intrinsically cheaper than HFO (potentially 10-30% depending on oil market conditions) and in many instances is competitive with LNG. EFS utilises proprietary, cutting-edge high shear mixing technology (termed PSM™ - Particle Size Management) to produce a uniquely size-graded emulsion with a higher energy density and lower viscosity than competing systems. The PSM™ technology enjoys a particular advantage in producing fuel for diesel engine applications because of these advantageous characteristics. EFS PSM™ technology is implemented by installation of modular pre-engineered systems of approximately 40 tons per hour capacity. These have a short lead- time and small footprint. For large installations EFS custom engineers stick-built systems based on single train mixing capacities of up to 200 tons per hour. EFS is not tied to a particular supplier of surfactants and can select the optimum cost competitive surfactant solution for each application. Access to technically superior surfactants may allow the processing of lower value, denser and higher viscosity residues providing further cost advantage.
