Die FEB versteht sich seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1994 als interdisziplinäre Plattform für alle in der Bauwerkserhaltung Beteiligten. Zudem soll vermehrt bereits bei Neubauten die zukünftige Erhaltung eingeplant werden. Die Tätigkeiten der FEB bezwecken die Förderung und Etablierung der Bauwerkserhaltung als wichtigen und anspruchsvollen Bestandteil des Bauens. Durch attraktive Angebote will die FEB zur Sicherstellung der Aus- und Weiterbildung sowie zu einem praxisbezogenen Erfahrungsaustausch beitragen. Die FEB bearbeitet keine baulichen Projekte und macht diesbezüglich auch keine Beratungen. Dies ist Aufgabe der einzelnen Mitglieder, welche über das Mitgliederverzeichnis kontaktiert werden können.
