FOLA er forældrenes landsorganisation - en organisation der varetager forældrebestyrelsers, forældreråds og forældrenævns interesser.
FOLA har eksisteret siden 1974. FOLA har en bestyrelse bestående af frivillige forældre, som alle kommer fra forældrenævn, -bestyrelser eller råd. Bestyrelsen vælges på foreningens generalforsamling. FOLA har et bemandet sekretariat, som kan kontaktes dagligt.
Medlemmer af FOLA er forældrenævn (sammenslutninger af forældrebestyrelser på kommunalt plan) forældreråd og forældrebestyrelser ved daginstitutioner, SFO og dagpleje. Vi har ca. 1500 medlemsinstitutioner.
FOLA arbejder for at forbedre børns og børnefamiliernes vilkår - såvel i daginstitutionen som i det øvrige samfund. Det er ønsket at vores daginstitutioner skal kendetegnes af kvalitet. Der skal være tid til omsorg, nærvær og udvikling.
