It was reported by the ICAO that 26% of the total air traffic in the world was contributed by flights in the EU in 2018 (*) making the market a huge contributor to global emissions. Considering its small size and short commuting time within the EU via other means of transportation, these emissions can be greatly reduced.
HADES is a new project started by students at ISAE SUPAERO that aims at developing a multidisciplinary Green UAV prototype. The purpose of this project is to establish and demonstrate a viable and affordable engineering model for clean aviation inside the EU with the final goal being to fly a hydrogen-powered aircraft within Europe by 2029.
