The HEAR Scholarship Foundation, founded in 2011, is dedicated to supporting high-achieving, low-income students from Chicagoland in their pursuit of higher education. Additionally, HEAR connects students with paid internships through partnerships with local organizations, offering practical experience crucial to professional success.
Diversity and inclusion are central to HEAR’s mission: around 70% of scholars are first-generation college students, and nearly 90% are from diverse ethnic backgrounds. With students coming from over 80 high schools in the Chicagoland area and attending universities across the country, HEAR has committed more than $4.5 million to scholarships and achieved a remarkable 98% four-year graduation rate—significantly higher than the national average.
By supporting HEAR, donors are investing in the next generation of leaders and ensuring access to higher education for students who might otherwise face significant financial barriers. HEAR’s comprehensive approach equips scholars to thrive academically and professionally, preparing them for long-term success and empowering them to give back to their communities.
