HomEat’s purpose is to build people’s private kitchen brand by creating an online platform which allows people without restaurants to share the food they make with others. Chefs or “hosts” can cook either domestic or international cuisine and are able to create their personal homepage, write their story, post photos of their private kitchens, share information through social media platforms, and display their guests' comments. HomEat redefines the restaurant experience by allowing the customer to customize his/her experience; one can choose the location where one would like to eat whether this be an outdoor garden, a church, the dining room table, etc. At HomEat, food is a medium of communication used by people who invite strangers into their home, share their dining room table, and make new friends and connections. The hosts not only focus on the food, but they also pay a lot of attention to the social aspect of the dinner in order to ensure that the patrons have the best experience possible.
