xRapid is a world first in mobile health, it is the first commercially available app that has the functionality to quickly and accurately diagnose a major disease.
By deploying cutting edge Digital Imaging technology and Artificial Intelligence, xRapid has brought a revolutionary diagnostic platform that can diagnose diseases such as Malaria faster, cheaper and more accurately than conventional methods. The company has first developed xRapid-Malaria, an app that empowers health workers in the field and in laboratories. Using a system of pattern recognition, xRapid-Malaria can diagnose malaria from thick blood slides at the touch of a button. The technology streamlines the diagnostic process by providing an accessible solution for health workers. Malaria is a deadly global health problem, xRapid-Malaria gives much more people the means to test and treat the disease.
xRapid is currently working on xRapid-Lab, a natural extension of their initial app to characterise the culture of Plasmodium. This automated counter for malaria culture supports all researchers working on lab culture of Plasmodium species by offering a new tool to count parasites and red blood cells faster.

xRapid is a Medtech company based primarily in London, UK with offices in Jakarta, Indonesia and San Francisco, USA. xRapid saw its beginnings in a laboratory in Jakarta. Our CTO, Professor David Mendels, recognised that he was able to develop a mobile solution for malaria diagnosis after attending a conference. Since then he has created xRapid; a powerful automated test that can be deployed anywhere in the field and has the potential to spot other diseases from tuberculosis to gonorrhoea.
