We strongly believe that resources should be used and shared responsibly. Thus, instead of wasting a valuable resource like plastic, we want to divert it from landfills and keep it in the economy by converting it into filaments.
A million bottles are bought around the world every minute and only 7% of them are collected and turned into new bottles, and the rest end up in landfill sites or the ocean. A kilogram of our recycled filaments can diverge 76 post-consumption plastic bottles going into the landfill for the next 500 years.
In the current filament market, more than 90% of 3D printing filaments are made from virgin plastics and each year 4% (1.3 billion barrels) of the world's oil is used to make virgin plastics. There's a scope for making this process more sustainable by introducing recycled plastics into the 3D printing stream and thus preserving natural resources and keeping materials in use.
