IVAS - Centre for International Visiting Artists and Scholars is a young, not-for-profit, Createch organisation, dedicated to amplifying its members’ significance in Art & Design, Culture and Humanities. IVAS members are passionate artists and social scientists with international knowledge exchange experience who share similar strengths and interests.
IVAS mission statement:
• Develop a supportive network of international artists and scholars
with experience in higher education worldwide;
• Connect its members and institutions with those who have similar
strengths and interests;
• Create awareness around the contributions of our academic visitors
to their research and development;
• Promote sustainable partnerships globally through stimulating
meaningful encounters and collaborations;
• Assist with project-based pedagogical research and inquiry into
creative education.
In fulfilment of the above, IVAS sets out to:
• Enable global knowledge exchange and foster the sharing of
innovative ideas and experiences.
• Host and coordinate a variety of seminars, workshops and debates,
both in person and/or virtually, that will enrich cultural understanding
and professional development.
• Give advice on preparation and application for becoming an academic
visitor overseas (currently we cover Southeast Asia, the UK and the
US. We will announce future destinations soon).
• Facilitate a mentor-mentee arrangement and peer support to give
members a positive visiting experience.
• Support, advise and (co)design in-country collaborative visits, events
and networking.
• Assist with projects of IVAS members.
IVAS is currently managed by volunteers from different walks of life and we are working towards a charity status in the future.
