Vocaal Talent Nederland (VTN) levert al 35 jaar een belangrijke bijdrage aan de ontwikkeling van jong zangtalent van 6 t/m 29 jaar. Kinderen en jongeren worden door het hele land gescout en komen in meerdere regio’s samen, iedereen die talent heeft kan meedoen. Om jong vocaal talent tot bloei te brengen is er veel aandacht voor de muzikale én de persoonlijke ontwikkeling van de deelnemers. We werken wekelijks aan hun vocale en muzikale ontwikkeling, zorgen voor een intensieve begeleiding en een inspirerende en veilige omgeving.
Belangrijke inspiratiebron en basis voor de continue ontwikkeling van de talenten zijn de vier koren die ook onder VTN vallen: het Nationaal Kinderkoor, Nationaal Jongenskoor, Nationaal Gemengd Jeugdkoor en Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor en de solistenklassen.
Onze zangers zingen een breed repertoire, van oude muziek tot Stockhausen en Auerbach. De koren zingen zowel ‘a capella’ als met orkest waaronder het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, Berliner Philharmoniker en met Nationale Opera en Ballet o.l.v. dirigenten als Bernhard Haitink, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Iván Fischer en Yannick Nézet-Séguin. In 2021/22 waren we Artist in Residence bij TivoliVredenburg en we zongen tien jaar achter elkaar tijdens de Nationale 4 Mei Herdenking in de Nieuwe Kerk, Amsterdam. In 2023 ontving het Nationaal Vrouwen Jeugdkoor de ‘Concertgebouw Young Talent Award’, als erkenning voor de jarenlange inzet voor de opleiding van jong zangtalent. In juli ’24 zongen twee jongenssolisten uit het Nationaal Jongenskoor bij de MH17 herdenking in Vierhouten.
VTN is ook een kweekvijver voor professionele musici in Nederland. Veel van onze leden hebben hun weg gevonden naar conservatoria, professionele orkesten en koren en succesvolle carrières opgebouwd. Bijv. Lucie Horsch, Nora Fischer, Steven van der Linden en Sterre Konijn.
