През 2014 година, стартирахме мащабно проучване на Северозападния регион, с подкрепата на Фондация BCause. Бяха проучени средни и малки общини в областите Видин, Враца и Монтана. Целта на проучването беше да се оценят нуждите на възрастните хора от региона и възможностите за устойчива подкрепа. През следващите две години започнахме да организираме здравни прегледи и да осигуряваме домашни помощници, с помощта на дарителите на Фондация BCause.
Благодарение на натрупаната информация, впечатления и опит избрахме да стартираме дейността си в региона на Община Мездра.
В края на 2016 година беше учредена Фондация „Проект Северозапад“ като местнобазирана организация. Нейната цел е да развие устойчиви услуги и подкрепа за старите хора и паралелно с това да развие местен капацитет и знание.
