De NVLE:
-organiseert en faciliteert lotgenotencontact voor haar leden
-verzamelt en verspreidt getoetste informatie
-bevordert dat voor iedereen zorg op maat beschikbaar is
-bevordert dat snel een diagnose kan worden gesteld
-behartigt de belangen van haar (potentiële) leden
-maakt zich sterk voor een grotere bekendheid van de aandoeningen van haar leden
Kerntaken
-Voorlichting: onafhankelijk, actueel, begrijpelijk, vanuit ervaringsdeskundigheid, afgestemd op behoeften van leden /zorgprofessionals, gecontroleerd door de Medische Adviesraad.
-Lotgenotencontact: voor een zo breed mogelijke groep diverse mogelijkheden bieden voor uitwisseling.
-Belangenbehartiging: zowel individuele als collectieve belangenbehartiging voor (potentiële) leden.
-Patiëntenparticipatie: stimuleren van onderzoek en input leveren vanuit patiëntperspectief in onderzoek en de organisatie van de zorg.
