De Nederlandse Vereniging voor Neuropsychologie (NVN) is de wetenschappelijke beroepsgroep die als doel heeft om het vakgebied van de Neuropsychologie in Nederland te bevorderen.
Het doel van de NVN is het bevorderen van de Neuropsychologie in Nederland door:
- Een netwerk te creëren tussen onderzoekers en clinici die werkzaam zijn binnen de Neuropsychologie.
- Bijeenkomsten te organiseren om neuropsychologische vraagstukken te bespreken en ervaringen uit te wisselen.
- Wetenschappelijk onderzoek te bevorderen en te coördineren.
- Contact te onderhouden met zusterverenigingen in het buitenland en met beoefenaars van aangrenzende vakgebieden.
De NVN organiseert twee keer per jaar een conferentie binnen een bepaald thema. De conferenties worden regelmatig georganiseerd in samenwerking met het Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP) en met zusterverenigingen in het buitenland.
De NVN looft ieder jaar een prijs uit voor de beste masterscriptie en voor de beste dissertatie op het terrein van de Neuropsychologie. Afwisselend wordt de NVN Test en Diagnostiekprijs prijs of de Early Career Award uitgereikt.
De NVN ondersteunt het Tijdschrift voor Neuropsychologie. Alle leden ontvangen het tijdschrift.
De NVN maakt deel uit van de Federation of European Societies of Neuropsychology (FESN) opgericht in 2007.
