The research group Facility Management of Hanze contributes to the development of knowledge about the built environment, related facility services, people, and organizations. Our applied research is multidisciplinary and focuses on evidence and application. Knowledge development in facility management is combined with disciplines such as (interior) architecture, movement sciences, building physics, medicine, organizational sciences, psychology, spatial sciences, and real estate. We aim for positive change: by intelligently modifying spaces and services, organizations can function and perform better. Applied research in education, healthcare, and offices is linked to professional practice and education. This Dutch research group leads the research program 'Healthy Buildings': a quest for buildings and organizations that demonstrably promote the health and well-being of their users. This program consists of the Innovation Labs Campus Design (education), Health Space Design (healthcare), and Healthy Workplace (offices). We are active in the Northern Netherlands region and have strong connections with national and international networks in our profession. We are highly enthusiastic about the opportunities to share our knowledge and experience and to collaborate with our knowledge and practice partners to make the world a better place. The Groningen research group closely collaborates with the ‘Spatial Environment and User’ research group of The Hague University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands.
