This 8-hour session connects brain research directly to decision-making in law enforcement. This fast-paced and interactive training explores decisions and judgment in the context of authority, the objectively reasonable standard of force, implicit bias, officer safety, de-escalation, and other fundamental concepts critical to surviving and excelling in law enforcement.
Facilitator Danny Rosa is a highly motivated Training Specialist with over 23 years of experience at a POST agency in the Midwest, managing the compliance of established law enforcement standards of basic police academy training and in-service training. Danny has also researched, developed, and implemented mandatory statewide standards for police academies and licensed officers. Danny started his career with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) in California back in 1982. During his 15 plus years with LASD, Danny was recognized as an expert in the use of force, illegal street gangs, and the sales of narcotics. Danny has over 35 years of experience as a law enforcement instructor/trainer and has attended several formal instructor training schools. As a former LASD Deputy, FTO, Gang Detective, Special Assignment Officer, Force Trainer and Sergeant, Danny has first-hand experience in numerous life-threatening situations, including officer-involved-shootings, and facilitates with practical insight.
